Watched yesterday
Persepolis - a young girl comes of age against the backdrop of the Iranian revolution. Autobiographical animation based on the graphic novels of Marjane Satrapi. Visually, the film is very close to the source material, being largely bold black and white frames and simple artwork. It's striking at first, but does become a bit 'samey' by the end. Marjane's story itself is interesting and often witty, without ever being engrossing, but it does provide an interesting perspective on the Iranian revolution and will be an informative introduction to those without much knowledge of the period - 3/5
